About us

Rose vines in front of the castle

Highest craftsmanship and distinctive design

On our website we present classic trellises for roses, clematis and other climbing plants from our own production and in a distinctive design. Our products combine clarity and elegance with high craftsmanship standards. We look for models and inspiration in the historic gardens of England, Italy, France and the American east coast. The trademark of this extraordinary series, the pine cone, is cast after an Etruscan original from the Vatican Museum in Rome. It reflects the harmony and beauty of nature.

In addition to aesthetics, Classic Garden Elements places great value on practical, gardening benefits. We receive valuable suggestions from our customers. We also rely on years of experience in working with the most important rose growers in Europe. We hope you enjoy browsing our pages and hope to give you new ideas for your very own personal garden dream. Because our aim at Classic Garden Elements is to seduce you a little into sensual dreams. Be it a Flag with enchantingly fragrant English roses – Klingsor's magical place, created for the magic of the first tête à tête. Or Mediterranean Pergolas à la Amalfi or Portofino in Italy. In memory of those endless summers that only youth knows. Pergola, which celebrate scent and color, intended for those who have found each other. Hand in hand and without words.

Classic Garden Elements delivers
Romance – Style – Elegance – Uniqueness

Three metal rose tendrils in the park

1998 to - years of Classic Garden Elements

The company was founded before 1998, when the journalist Otto Duris and the lawyer Johannes Dietrich - both passionate rose lovers - were looking for suitable trellises for fragrant historic roses for their private garden on a slope in the Taunus. At the time, there were none that were really convincing in terms of stability, workmanship and design. Wooden trellises were out of the question and overloaded metal trellises imported from Asia rusted after a short time. It just so happened that Slovakian relatives - brilliantly trained and experienced in the metal trade - were looking for new challenges. The first models based on designs by Christian Maske were quickly produced for test purposes and set up in German gardens and parks. Admiration and even orders at the trade fairs for new products in Essen, Frankfurt and Cologne solidified the company founders' conviction that they were right. The niche in the market was found. Trellises with classic English design and German quality soon found their way into gardening magazines across Europe. And the factory in Slovakia grew.

The company reached another milestone three years later. It was a sunny day in June 2001 when we were really discovered internationally during the Rose Festival at Hex Castle in Belgium. They were there early in the morning. Richard Beales and Ian Limmer - rose experts from the renowned rose nursery Peter Beales Classic Roses in Attleborough, England - looked at our 'very British' climbing obelisks, rose arches and the Victorian arbor with shining eyes. One thing led to another and the invitation to the famous Chelsea Flower Show What an honour for us! To be a small part of the most important garden exhibition in the world. We would never have dared to dream of that. A year later, in May 2002, the fabulous premiere in London followed with the first overseas customers and orders from the USA and Japan. In XNUMX, We ship worldwide, maintain branches in other countries with partners and supply private customers, museums, parks, sanatoriums, hospitals, hotels and many other companies.

Our trellises are welded from solid steel tubing and steel pipes, hot-dip galvanized and powder-coated against rust with a 10-year guarantee. We manufacture in-house. Every rose arch, rose obelisk, trellis pavilion, trellis column and espalier shines with a distinctive design. Clarity and elegance combine with the highest standards of craftsmanship. An antique pine cone from the Vatican Museum in Rome became the trademark of our company. It reflects the harmony and beauty of nature. A sculptor created the cast model for this in 1997, based on the old Etruscan original. This pine cone crowns our Garden obelisks, Rose arbors, Rose arches, Rose Pavilions and Pergolas.

Metal arcade for hotel - park - sanatorium

Our first two climbing obelisks and a Victorian garden arbor immediately attracted attention from trade visitors at international trade fairs in 1998. To this day, the simply “Garden Obelisk I" and "Rose Obelisk II” has become a bestseller in Europe, the USA and Japan. Our own factory now produces over 80 top products for roses, clematis and other climbing plants. In 2002 we presented our skills for the first time at the world-famous “Chelsea Flower Show” in London as the first German exhibitor ever at this quintessentially British garden extravaganza. In 2005, the organizer, the Royal Horticultural Society, honored us with their highest award - the 'Certificate of Merit'.

We look for and find the models for our trellises for climbing plants and roses in historical parks and gardening books. These historically inspired trellises combine beautifully with modern, contemporary gardens and parks. Here they set their own, quite romantic and nostalgic accents and contrasts. All trellises are developed without exception in intensive exchange of experience with rose growers, garden designers and garden owners. The metal trellises from Classic Garden are therefore not only decorative, but above all practical and particularly stable. Just like the latest creations from the practice-oriented design workshop in Hesse: the rose supports "Rudolf Geschwind" and "“Jean Vibert”, influenced by trellises that Vita Sackville-West once used for her famous castle garden in Sissinghurst designed.
