Description

Rose Pavilion with Dome for Peter Beales

A magnificent sight! This voluminous dome rose pavilion with connected arched tunnels made of steel by Classic Garden Elements enchants with wonderfully blooming climbing roses and ramblers in the garden of Peter Beales Roses Ltd in Attleborough, East England. It is the centerpiece of the extensive green areas of the world-famous rose nursery. The well-maintained rose garden is of course at its most beautiful in June and July, when the thousands of rose varieties show their best. But the garden also offers visitors many inspiring design ideas in spring, autumn and even winter. For 20 years, this true rose paradise has been the most exclusive "showroom" for Classic Garden Elements products!

The central rose dome pavilion - named after the rose breeder and rose book author Peter Beales (22.7.1936 - 26.1.2013) - is impressive due to its dimensions. In terms of height and width, it really offers the climbing roses plenty of living space. Our picture gallery documents the transformation of this rose pavilion over time. As soon as the impressive metal construction was assembled and firmly anchored 10 years ago, the first photo was taken shortly after the roses were planted. Step by step, the ramblers first conquered all the arches of the side entrances and then completely the dome. During the popular annual Rose Festival in Attleborough near Norfolk, a good opportunity would be to experience the true floral splendor around the pavilion.

Advantage Rose Pavilion Peter Beales

Advantages of the Peter Beales Metal Rose Pavilion

A climbing pavilion for pure rose enjoyment

Peter Beale's rose pavilion invites you to enjoy roses in their purest form. Under the blooming dome, you literally wander among rosy blossoms and sweet scents. For reasons of space, such a magnificent rose dance on arches connected to one another is probably only possible in large gardens and parks, but can also be implemented in smaller dimensions. The octagonal climbing pavilion creates its own space within the garden, which needs air and space around it to fully develop its effect. The dome shape intentionally transfers something sacred into the garden. A rose dome for rose enthusiasts...

The oldest real domes with voussoirs date from the Etruscan period. Dome construction reached its peak in Roman antiquity with the rotunda in the Pantheon in Rome. Round halls in Roman imperial baths were also vaulted with domes. Sacred Christian architecture received its pioneering model from the architectural idea of the Hagia Sophia, the central church of the Eastern Roman Empire built in Constantinople under Emperor Justinian I in the Byzantine Empire. Brunelleschi's monumental dome of the Florence Cathedral marks a technical breakthrough - a new dimension in the art of vaulting. The new Renaissance style with Michelangelo's dome of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome served as a model well into the Baroque period.
