Metal garden pavilion – historical and modern
The term pavilion comes from the Latin word papillio, which means "the pleasure tent". The pavilion is defined as a free-standing, light structure in a garden. Although it was already used in ancient times, it appeared more frequently in the era of absolutism in the parks of the nobility as a place to rest, a lookout point or simply as a design element. Later, the rose pavilion spread to the gardens of the wealthy middle class. Classic Garden Elements offers three historically inspired pavilions: The metal pavilions Sissinghurst and Kiftsgate reflect England's garden art at its best. The Wallingford garden pavilion is designed after an American model from Wallingford, Vermont. Each of the three garden pavilions has a different purpose:
The filigree Metal trellis pavilion Sissinghurst The flowers are the focus. With its curved shape and great elegance, the metal frame provides a stable support for climbing plants. The Sissinghurst pavilion is 350 centimetres high at the top. It envelops a square area of 500 x 500 centimetres. The exclusive climbing pavilion varies in charm depending on the season. In summer it offers a fragrant, shady canopy of flowers. In spring the first tender shoots can be observed and in autumn it is the red rose hips and the gentle rays of the autumn sun that pamper the connoisseur. In winter the Sissinghurst climbing pavilion can be transformed into a magical eye-catcher with fairy lights. Inspired by the climbing pavilions of Sissinghurst Castle in the English county of Kent, the metal pavilion brings English elegance to the garden. It is available in the standard colours reddish brown and black.

With the round Rose Pavilion Kiftsgate Create an idyllic retreat with a diameter of 250 centimeters. The four elegantly curved trellises are at a height of 300 centimeters. There is enough space between the metal trellises to enter the climbing pavilion. The Kiftsgate metal climbing pavilion is ideal for a seating area in the middle of the garden or on the terrace. Even without plants, the metal pavilion is a feast for the eyes. Climbing roses, clematis, ivy and all plants that like to climb upwards are suitable for planting. The Kiftsgate rose pavilion is available in black in the online shop. It also looks very elegant in white, green or anthracite. Would you like to integrate the garden pavilion into the color scheme of your property? A color sample is enough and we will paint the metal climbing pavilion in the color of your choice.
The Metal Garden Gazebo Wallingford is available in two versions. With a closed roof including rain gutters. And as a climbing pavilion with a roof designed as an open, airy trellis (for climbing plants). The closed, dome-shaped roof offers protection from sun and rain all year round. In the Arboretum Ellerhoop garden complex, the Wallingford metal pavilion is the center of the rose garden. The standard version of the Wallingford garden pavilion has a square base of 250 x 250 centimeters and a height of 450 centimeters. Like all Classic Garden Elements products, the pavilion can be made to your individual size, according to your design and in the color of your choice.
